What to do, where to go?
So, my brother asked me a specific question about a place and where might be nice to go and what to do (I will get back to you I promise). That got me thinking about my life and if I always know where I am going and what I should be doing there. Yesterday, Rob and I taught the RS, Elder Q lesson on Elder Costa's talk Obedience to the Prophet it makes reference to a talk that President Benson gave Here. I love that Rob and I teach the same lesson because we are able to discuss the topic and prepare in a different way than if one of us wasn't going to teach it. Some great discussion - I love that! In those talks Elder Costa and President Benson make lots of great points about the sacredness and importance of having a modern day prophet. One is that “The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet”. As we discussed this in class I was again reminded of how important it is for us to read, reread and study the words of the living prophets. On the way home Rob and I were talking about how if we live it fully that for the questions we have we would go back to the writings and teachings of the prophet of the day and for us today that is President Monson. My testimony of the need, blessing, benefit and privledge of knowing and having a living prophet grows each day. I know that I can turn to the Lord's annointed if and when I need an answer and I love that knowledge.
